Positive Nation needs your letters

OK, just got off the phone with Positive Nation. They are running a feature on the DLA reviews in the next edition which goes to press next week.

What they have asked for is letters from people affected by this - you don't have to identify yourself, they will change the name or publish suitable stuff anonymously.

Email how you feel or what's happened to you to editor@positivenation.co.uk

It looks like most people affected by this are older gay men living in London - is there anyone from outside London or who isn't a gay man that can add something to the debate.

Word is that many of people reviewed are having their DLA withdrawn totally, so make sure that you discuss this with your HIV specialist BEFORE they are asked to fill in the review questionnaire.

'60% of people reviewed are having their DLA withdrawn totally'

Can we establish the veracity i.e. the source of this information....if not then can it be withdrawn as it is unduly alarmist.....

This being a public forum I will email and let PN lift as they feel apprioprate from the blog as there are some stories from outside London "hidden in the content"

i thought that ola siad at the meeting that 60% of people were being left unchanged and that 30%were having it reduced or stopped, where did you get the new information?

The information was provided to the Author of this entry by a very senior figure within THT. Clearly there is an issue of who is right within THT.

The author will attempt to get the correct information once it has been agreed within THT.

Thanks for your comments. Most of us were, including myself, confused on this issue also.

Perhaps the PN article will clarify the situation with regard to the 'percentages' issue?

I have altered this article to remove the 60% mentioned. Until this is further clarifed. As stressed I am happy that the author was merely passing on information given to him.
